We are currently pushing as hard as we can on developing design parameters for extremely energy efficient house designs. The basic components are as follows:
A very efficient a shell, somewhat like we did in the early 1980's with "Super-Insulated" houses.
A low-cost efficient heating systems replacing traditional forced air, radiant or baseboard heat.
A heat recovery ventilator to supply fresh air while conserving energy.
Comprehensive lighting design and low energy lighting systems & illuminators.
Highly efficient appliances.
Renewable energy electric generation on site with net-metering.
Most of these components are well known, reliable and make economic sense. We are evaluating different options to compare costs to energy savings.
